The world was still revolving, yet the human eyes, mind, and heart were in devastation of the brutal murder of George Floyd Jr.
Are they going to stop? Are they going to stop? One is asking, pondering, and wondering.
Please! Please! I can’t breathe….Mama....
Yes, my son.
Yes, my father.
Yes, my brother.
Yes, my husband.
Yes, my cousin.
Yes, my uncle.
Yes, my friend.
Yes, my nephew.
We must fight to do a natural ability from birth - breathe. 9:29.
Do you acknowledge I have a genuine purpose in this earthly life?
How dare you make the decision that you can continue to take life from another human?
Did you think our worldly brothers and sisters would not react, rethink, revise, and replicate boldly? 9:29.
We have an obligation with A Soulful Heart to unite. Join our movement to promote a positive elevation of change, human kindness, righteousness, unity, and love.
- Love Sessoms, Board Secretary, A Soulful Heart
It is impossible to believe that it has been more than four years since the murder of George Floyd, Jr. The memory of the 9 minutes, 29 seconds it took George to finally succumb to Derek Chauvin's knee pressing on his neck, is as cruel and inhumane today as it was on May 25, 2020. During that time, George repeatedly begged Police Officer Chauvin to stop, saying, "Please sir, I can't breathe," before ultimately calling out for his Mother with his last dying breath,
For George and all of the other people of color who have been murdered because of the color of their skin, A Soulful Heart offers this spoken word tribute written by ASH's Treasurer, Nan O'Brien, and produced by Andre Graham, the ASH Director of Community Affairs, The Rivers Run Red. Please join us in trying to combat injustice.
